We went to visit Tyler's parents in Oregon at the end of March. Here are a few pictures from that trip.
On Tyler's grandparents' porch in Seattle with his Mom. They have a nice view of downtown! Many of the homes on Mercer Island have been torn down and new ones built in their stead. The dirt is worth more than the home. The yellow one on the right is one example. A home just above Tyler's grandparents house were going for 1.5 million and it didn't even have a view.
Grandpa and Grandma Mladenich posing with the grandkids. Technically I suppose there is also a great grandchild in this picture.
Jessica with Seattle in the background.
The view from Tyler's Grandparent's house. Paul Allen (of Microsoft fame) has a house on Mercer Island where this home is. If you look closely, you can actually see blue sky...in Seattle...in March! And they say all it does is rain there...
With Tyler's dad on the north side of Seattle. We got the grand tour from Grandpa in his nice Lexus. This picture is a little more representative of the weather in Seattle. Different shades of grey.
Pikes Market in Seattle. The fish throwing stand is just about 50 feet inside the structure, but it was so crowded we didn't get any good shots of the flying salmon! Probably a third of the stands inside the market had fresh flowers, mostly tulips that were quite colorful.
Jessica in front of one of the many bridges spanning the Willamette River in Portland. I think it's the Burnside Bridge.
Another shot of Downtown Portland, Oregon from Waterfront Park. Also known as "God's Country"
Downtown Portland from a tram that runs from the river up to Oregon Health Sciences University, the hospital where Tyler was born. It was actually a nice day and this is proof that the sun does occasionally shine in Oregon.
No trip would be complete without a Portland Trail Blazers game. Too bad they didn't finish with a great record and ended up losing to the worst team in the NBA on this particular night.
