Decorating

We're heading to Oregon for Christmas this year so we figured on the day after Thanksgiving we better get all our decorating done so we can enjoy it before leaving town. Here's how it went down...
Makayla hung out on the driveway while Dad cut all the excess branches off the tree.
She enjoyed telling us that we had a "tree" in our family room. Here she is pointing at the Christmas tree.
Nice and fresh. It's a Noble Fir - and it smells great! Before all the decorations.
Here's Makayla searching for a place to put a candy cane - that or she's trying to take one of the ornaments off.
After we decorated the tree inside, I spent the rest of the morning on the last step of our 8 foot ladder hanging lights outside. Luckily I didn't fall.
I'm proud of the red tree. But I'm not looking forward to taking them down.
And of course, a picture of our completely decorated Christmas tree.
As I'm typing this Christmas music is playing on the computer. I absolutely love this time of year. We had a blast decorating yesterday instead of getting trampled by black Friday crowds.
Sorry to rag on my wife, but Jessica's been really moody lately. She feels sick a lot of the time - particularly in the morning and she's getting fat - but only in her lower abdomen. It's gotten so bad that she can't button her pants anymore. It's probably because she's eating all the time. Brownies, ice cream, chocolate you name it. The only thing she won't eat is Top Ramen - which is weird because she usually eats it with Makayla. Now it's the most vile food in existence.
Maybe all this is happening because she's pregnant and due June 15th.

I am really impressed with the Christmas decorations, and the outside lighting...I don't know if we are capable of that kind of DIY work.

I like the red tree a lot, and how exciting is it that you will be adding another little member to your cute family in the spring. Congrats that really is so great.

Good luck on your Christmas adventures in the cold.

Big huge congratulations to all of you! What a fabulous Christmas present.
Question: how did you get the starburst effect on the lights in the picture of your decorated tree? Did you use a filter or was it post-processing PS work? I know of one way to get that effect using PS, but I'm not that satisfied with it-- yours is prettier. If you see this comment, will you email me? gfturner@gmail.com
THANKS!
