This was actually at home in Arizona. Having some fun at our daughter's expense. Wearing PJs on your head! Ha!
Not sure what she's doing here...but she looks a little scared of the camera.
The reason we went to Utah. Congratulations Ryan!
Makayla hanging out in the Tanner Building - enjoying a tasty finger at the same time.
Jessica hanging out at the Tanner Building wishing her husband wasn't taking so many pictures.
Cousins! Mia is saying "cheese," but she's so occupied with saying it that she forgets to smile! Makayla, again, looks a bit frightened of the camera/flash.
Four generation picture with my Dad and his parents. Good to see my grandparents when we get the chance.
Makayla's first encounter with Aunt Carly. And Aunt Carly's first experience being an aunt. And holding a baby. She was a bit nervous, but I think Makayla may have carved out a little residence in her heart.
Jessica with her sis' Carly. They hadn't had the chance to see each other in about a year.
We were also able to reunite with Jessica's rommies Gena and Amanda from our sophomore year of college (her roomies during the time we met/dated). Gena is really like 8 inches taller than the other two but she's squatting down (in the middle) to not crush the fragile egos of the other vertically challenged folk in the picture. Not to mention the vertically challenged photographer.
We stopped by to see Jessica's Grandparents who were kind enough to let us live in their basement the year after we were married. We also sampled some wonderful apricot scones from Grandma. Yummy.
To celebrate the new laureate, we went to the carnivore paradise Claim Jumper in Heber City. I had a 14 oz Prime Rib and although my brother chided me for not joining him in getting the 18 ouncer, he couldn't finish his, whereas I did. Yay me!
Makayla and Grandpa playing with Grandpa's pen at Ryan and Steph's pad.
"Dad...what are you doing?"
Jessica's Grandpa (on her Dad's side) right before we left for the airport. Thanks to Aunt Shelly for letting us stay with them for a few days. And thanks to Uncle Cal for stopping the truck rolling down the hill in front of their house before it hit the car we were borrowing from my brother.
My parents with Makayla. Please take note that my mother's eyes are open. No you read that right - OPEN. You have no idea how incredible and rare of an event this is.
Steph, Ryan and Mia (no doubt saying cheese again). Cute side note about Mia. She learned everyone's name (primarily from this blog and others). Whenever the camera was out she said "Ty dooing?" and "Cheese". She also would point at Makayla and say "Baby" and sometimes call her by name "Kia". Also Poor Mia will probably be confused as she grows older about how many grandpas/grandmas she has. Present in Utah were my dad (Grandpa), my mom (Grandma), my Dad's parents (also Grandma and Grandpa) and my mom's Dad (you guessed it...Grandpa). She had 4 grandpas and 3 grandmas there...and that's not including those on Stephanie's side.
This was kind of a long post. We had a lot of fun and we were really busy trying to see as many people as we could while we were there. I'm glad we went and were able to see and spend time with our family members and friends.

love it...especially the pic of the tall one!
Wow that was a great trip for catching up with everyone. I know what you mean about trying to see as many people as you can. It sure looks like you were able to do quite a bit though.
How is it to be such a short distance from so much family, instead of half way across the country? Must be nice.
I can't believe how big Makayla is getting. Look at all that hair! What a sweet little face she has. And four generations, nice work!
Did you guys get a new camera? Those are some sharp looking pictures!
Why yes Verenice, we did get a new camera. Good eye!
